1981 28' AIRSTREAM "EXCELLA"/REAR-BATH MODEL - $20,000 For a 1st Class motorhome design! This reconditioned Excella's like a wingless DC-3; Airstream body on a Chevrolet P-Series chassis. The Excella's fully self-contained, self-propelled and ALL systems have been documented & maintained to factory specks for the past 10 years. The AIRSTREAM is powered by a reconditioned 454 cu.in. V-8 w/ Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission - rebuilts installed @ 55,000 mi. Plenty of horsepower for hill climbing. Power-steering, power-brakes and air-bag/shock suspension provides easy driving that maintains a smooth ride at highway speeds. Over the past 9 months: a) Transmission kit/filters and gaskets replaced; b) Brake, transmission, differential and power-steering fluids & coolant and motor oil, flushed and refilled; c) Onan 6500 watt generator excel condition w/ 25 hours-since it was fully tuned, timed & oiled; d) New heavy-duty hydraulic brakes installed; e) New timing chain and full tune-up for Chevy 454 v-8; f) New starting and deep-cycle reserve batteries, alternator and isolator; g) New AM-FM/Cassette w/ surround sound; h) New Rattler security system; i) V-8's cooling system refurbished w/ new water pump, clutch fan, recored radiator, heat sensors & thermostat; j) Body buffed out & new acrylic pin-striping applied. The two roof air conditioners have kept me cool in Death Valley. The Excella has three integrated electric systems handled through a Univolt Electric Distribution System (DC;AC;AC/DC) w/ a Solid State Control Panel. Phone and cable TV jacks are conviently located on board as is a roof mounted motorized TV antenna/(easily satelite converted). A large 120V AC vacuum system is built into the rear closet, next to the bathroom. There are many lights running on both AC and/or DC circuits. The kitchen has a built-in blender/juicer, a Magic Chef Gas range/Microwave oven, Dometic electric-gas refrigerator/freezer (stays @ 0*F), cabinet space and natural hardwood parquet flooring. Water system: Potable water tank - 50 gal., toilet holding tank - 25 gal. & wash/shower water tank - 35 gal. Heating system: Bowen Gas Hot-water heater and a Suburban propane furnace. The "Excella" has plenty of inside cabinets and overhead compartments (like a commuter plane), as well as locking storage compartments under the floor that open outside - driver's side.
